Studio etiquette

We want everyone who visits us to feel at home, and we will do everything we can to ensure that everyone has a great experience.

  • Before coming to your yoga or Pilates class, it’s a good idea not to eat for two hours before the class starts. Fruit or a light snack is fine, e.g. a smoothie and a drink.

  • You can bring a water bottle into the room, but please drink before and after the class.

  • Please wear clean clothes and avoid strong perfumes, as these may be a nuisance to other participants.

  • We lend out mats and all the equipment, and as yoga is practised barefoot, we like to see clean feet on the mats. Please put any equipment you’ve borrowed back neatly, just as you’d like to find it yourself.

  • Please arrive on time for the lesson; the doors to the room open 10–15 minutes beforehand. If you still can’t make it on time, slip in quietly and find a mat and a place to sit.

  • Before the yoga classes begin, the studio is a space where you should be able to turn your attention inwards, lie down and relax in silence before the class starts. Please therefore ensure that the yoga studio remains a quiet space.

  • Please leave coats and bags outside or at the very back of the room. Ideally, switch off your mobile phone or set it to silent mode without vibration.

  • Please let your teacher know if you have any injuries or particular difficulties that require special consideration. If you are pregnant, there are some positions you should not do.

  • If you need to leave before the end of the class, it is best to do so before the cool-down begins, as we want to maintain a calm atmosphere during this important part of the class. Please let the teacher know before the class starts.

  • We’ll do everything we can to ensure you feel at home with us in every way, with a great atmosphere and pleasant premises.

  • We hope that you’ll look after yourself and your unique body. Your form and performance vary from day to day. Listen to your body – both its limitations and its potential.

  • To help ensure a safe and positive environment for everyone, we ask that participants do not attend classes while under the influence of alcohol or other intoxicating substances. Yoga requires presence, balance, and body awareness. Being under the influence may increase the risk of injury, both to yourself and to others in the room.

  • We warmly welcome everyone back to practice when they are able to participate safely. Thank you for helping us maintain a safe and respectful environment for all our students and teachers.
